A Message from the NSBYA President

By Caroline Fredenburg

Hello everyone,

Happy summer! The NSBYA board of directors has been very busy during the past couple of months. Our team has continued to advocate for recycling at shows across the country through our recycling drive. Be on the lookout for NSBYA’s recycling bins, and help us do our part to maintain resources for future members.

At the Premier, recently held in Lexington, Kentucky, our youth fundraised with the goal to raise money to support the team tournament held at the NSBA World Show. There is no entry fee and is open to all youth attending the show. Each team will be selected at the draw party held on Thursday, August 11. Teams compete throughout the show, and the winner is the group with the highest cumulative score. This is a no-cost opportunity that allows you to network with fellow youth and possibly win fun prizes.

Also at the NSBA World Show, the Youth of the Year will be recognized at the annual Honors Banquet. The winner will be presented with the Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship, a donation to a charity of their choice, and a spotlight in The Way To Go magazine. This is an incredible way to shed light on our youth members with hearts for service, and we are thankful for everyone who makes it possible.

NSBYA provides many opportunities for leadership experience, scholarships, and member involvement. The Smart Points program, Youth of the Year award, and yearly service projects are just a few of the options offered to all youth. The 2022-2023 NSBYA officer team will be elected at the NSBA World Show. If you are interested in pursuing a leadership position and immersing yourself in opportunity, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I encourage youth members of all ages, breeds, and disciplines to consider learning more about the programs offered by NSBA. Get in touch with a member of the officer team, and we would love to introduce you to these endless possibilities.

- Caroline
