2010 Stallion Incentive Fund (SIF) Classes  Questions and Answers

What is are SIF Classes?
  • SIF Classes are a set of classes with added money offered regionally for 2 and 3 year olds.

What are the eligibility requirements for SIF classes?
  • The sire must be a sold breeding in the NSBA Stallion Incentive Fund for the competition year, 2010. A list of sold stallions can be found on the NSBA website, nsba.com.  *The exception is a foal that results from a breeding that was purchased through the NSBA Stallion Incentive Fund.  This foal is eligible to participate in the SIF classes regardless of the sire’s continued eligibility in the SIF program.
  • All entries in the SIF classes must be licensed.  This includes all buyer and owner designated foals with a free entry.   Horses will not be allowed to enter the SIF classes without showing an SIF License.  A License Form can be printed from the NSBA Website nsba.com or obtained from the NSBA office, 847-623-6722.
  • All owners and exhibitors must be NSBA members.  Show passes will not be accepted.
  • No breedings may be purchased nor sires grandfathered to created eligibility for the current year’s SIF classes after July 1.

How much is the entry fee for the SIF classes?

The entry fee for each SIF class is $75.
What is the payout for an SIF class?
  • The payout for the 2 year old Open Western Pleasure and Three year old Open Hunter Under Saddle classes are $1000* each.
  • The payout for the 3 year old Non-Pro Western Pleasure class is $500*
  • * At least 80% of the $75 entry fee is jackpotted and added to the purse.
