Enrolling a Stallion or Foal

Enrolling a Stallion

Stallion owners may make offspring eligible for the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity by paying an annual nomination fee of $500 prior to May 15, 2025 or $800 after May 15, 2025.The stallion must participate in the Ranch BCF the yearling year of a foal crop, making all offspring born that year eligible to participate in the program.

Offered as an introduction to the program in 2025 only, stallions can be enrolled with a one-time nomination fee that will allow eligibility for yearlings (2024 foals) and two year olds (2023 foals). Beginning in 2026, stallion nominations will be on an annual basis to guarantee foal eligibility.

Stallion Nominations:

  • By May 15th of foal crop's yearling year - $500
  • After May 15th of foal crop's yearling year - $800

Enrolling A Foal

Horse owners will make a one-time nomination to the Ranch Breeders Championship Futurity. The most economical time to nominate a foal is prior to May 15 of the yearling year. Fees increase for late yearlings, two year olds and three year olds.

Foal Enrollments in 2025 ONLY:

  • 2023 Foals by May 15th - $350
  • After May 15th of 1 Year Old year - $500
  • 3 Year Old - $1,000

Future Year Foal Enrollments beginning in 2025 for 2024 Foals:

  • By May 15th of yearling year - $200
  • After May 15th of yearling year - $500
  • 2 Year Old - $750
  • 3 Year Old - $1,500

Certificate of Registration

Once the enrollment form has been received and validated, and a copy of the breed registration papers have been forwarded to the NSBA office, a Certificate of Registration is mailed to the foal owner. The Certificate must be in current owner's name when the horse is shown.

Any changes in information will need to be forwarded to the NSBA office, along with a transfer form. The fee for changes, including those listed below, is $45. Please note that a copy of the horse's registration papers, showing the current ownership, must accompany the transfer form.

  • Change in ownership
  • Change in the name of horse
  • Loss of original certificate
